The Reckless Love of God

1 John 4: 7-12 NIV
My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us be thankful to God for his unending love, which keeps pouring over us on a daily basis.
1 John 4 vs 9-10, “This is how God showed his love among us: he sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

Some of us might wonder, does reckless not have a negative connotation? Let us look into the meaning of the word “reckless”. In a simplified version, the dictionary states – “To decide to act without stopping to think beforehand.”
Does this mean that our God is reckless? No
Does this mean that we serve a crazy God? No
It simply means that He is unbothered or unconcerned with the consequences of his actions because he does not need to think beforehand to act. His love towards us has no limitation. It is endless. His love freely gives and never expect anything in return. His love is overwhelming and never ending.
His love reaches out to everyone regardless of who we are. His love is unwavering and unconditional.
His love doesn’t disqualify us because of our iniquities. My God! His love fights for us to give us a victorious battle. His love stretches over us right at the time when we think we don’t deserve it.
Thank you God for your reckless love!!

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your one and only son to die for our sins. Thank you for your unconditional love. We pray we’ll continue to live right by you so we can continue to experience your endless love. We are going to lean on you forever. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen!

One of my favorite gospel songs titled “Reckless love” by Cory Asbury. Please listen and stay blessed.

Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was still worth it! Cathie Mikey Bauer

Wow! Thanks Mercy, it’s true and it’s a reckless and radical love ?? ? ? ???. Thank you Jesus Christ for your unfailing and unending love.
I came back from work this morning, as I was reading today’s Word of Wisdom (WoW) and listening to that your favorite song, I was refreshed and revived in the spirit. Thank God for the song writer and thanks for chipping it into today’s msg. Very powerful! More insight.
