Set up an Appointment

Read John 3: 1-21

“… For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” (verse 2)

The above were the words of Nicodemus who had approached Jesus by night and acknowledged him as a Rabbi. Keep in mind, Nicodemus was not just a Pharisee, he was a member of the ruling council and a teacher of the people of Israel. Nicodemus did something remarkable that night. He humbled himself and went to Jesus to seek answers to the questions that were bothering him. I am not sure why he went to Jesus by night, but I think his action is worth emulating.

Set up an appointment with Jesus at night. By night, I mean any quiet time when you can be alone with Jesus and present the many questions you have to him. Empty yourself and ask for understanding. As you continue to read John chapter 3, you would notice that Jesus had a lengthy conversation with Nicodemus. Verse 14-15 of that chapter caught my attention. Jesus said to Nicodemus, “And as Moses lifted serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up, that whosoever believe in him, should not perish but have eternal life.”

“Should” here, means that it is a done deal. It means that something has been done. All you must do is believe. So, what are your questions, troubles, and pains? Set up an appointment with him today and believe and you shall be saved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, open the eyes of our minds so that we can see that true solutions come from you. Deliver us from every snares and difficulties. As we come to your presence to seek the truth, in Jesus name. Amen.
