HEAVEN REJOICES

“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” [Luke 15:7]

We need to know the one unique thing that causes Angels in Heaven to erupt in joy. What is the solitary act that triggers such a mighty angelic celebration?

Most people have experienced the joy of finding something valuable they had considered lost. The Lord Jesus Christ is using this universal feeling to explain that there is rejoicing in heaven when even one sinner repents. Just as a woman would rejoice at finding her lost wedding ring, so the angels would rejoice over a repentant sinner-an offender, a law breaker. Every single individual is precious to God. He grieves over every loss and rejoices whenever one of his children is found and brought into the kingdom.

Today, if you decide to give your life to Jesus, he will turn your night to day, your sorrow, crying and weeping to joy, your test to testimony, failure to success, your rejection/denial to acceptance, your bleak future to bright future, your mess to miracle. If an offender or law breaker, someone who is guilty of missing the mark or a sinner who does not repent before he or she breathes the last breath, the penalty for dying in his lost state is eternal separation from God. As Romans 6:23 says:

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

DON’T PROCRASTINATE

Now that you know what to do, do it now. Don’t delay receiving the most precious gift God has for you. Tomorrow may be too late. King Agrippa [Acts 26:28] was almost persuaded to be a Christian when apostle Paul providentially reached out to him with the gospel BUT he failed to repent. He missed God’s salvation narrowly.

George Mueller was a terrible sinner. At age 10, he was already a habitual thief and an expert at cheating. He grew up in his sinful habits of immorality and lying, were among his vices and he soon became a drunkard. Though he attended the school of church ministry, that did not change him. One day, fate worked for him when a friend took him to a Christian meeting where he repented and surrendered to Christ. He later became a great minister of God. Only one night, George’s destiny changed from hell to heaven. This positive dramatic change can happen in your life too if you don’t delay or procrastinate. I encourage you to repent now because tomorrow may be too late.
