More than Love, God is a disciplinarian

The book of 2 Peter 1:8 says, “… that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” My prayer for you today is that every word you hear and read from these words of wisdom will make you to become fruitful, and not barren in Jesus Christ Mighty and Fruitful Name. Amen

Today’s topic is “More than love, God is a disciplinarian.

Times without number, the scripture (i.e. the Bible, because there are different types of scriptures) tells us that God is love. We see glimpses of his love to mankind throughout that scripture. Yes, Our God is a loving God who doesn’t want any of us to perish. He wants us to be saved and to gain accessibility back to the garden of Eden, which we’d lost earlier through Adam and Eve.

As loving as God is, he is also a disciplinarian. Hebrews 12:9 says, “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits and live?” Verse 29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.” Try to prayerfully read the whole chapter at your leisure time.

The Bible says in Hebrews 3:15, “While it is said, today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” God disciplines everyone differently. He allowed leprosy upon Miss Miriam Amram and spared Mr. Aaron Amram. They were a senior sister and brother to Moses Amram, respectively. And both of them committed same offense, yet their punishment varied. God disciplines us the way a parent disciplines his/her children (biological or not) with love. Today, allow God’s discipline for you, allow him to correct you and direct your path. For He is the good shepherd who will not lead us astray.

Let us pray: The God of all universe, hallow be thy name. We know we can’t run from your disciplinary action and neither can we hide from you. You have the words of life that will benefit us. Help us Father to obey you while you’re disciplining us, help us to know that your rod and your staff will always comfort us in Jesus Christ Mighty Name. Amen
