The God of Another Chance

My brothers and sisters in Christ, first of all, let’s give God the praise for not giving up on us. His grace stretches all around us and his plans towards us are good.
In Psalm 86 vs 15, “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
In Micah 7 vs 18, “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.”

Let us briefly look at the life of Paul. He made series of wrong choices to the extent of murdering Christians. He was an individual who was less than perfect and his future (eternal destination) was heading in the wrong direction. But when Jesus offered him another chance – to live a righteous life, he got up, put his bad behavior behind and moved forward with Christ. We can also do the same thing. We do not need to beat ourselves up over the wrong choices we have made. Let us put those things behind us and move forward with Christ, like Paul.

What about the life of David? Despite all the wrong choices and illegitimate actions, God offered him many chances to live right. God loved David so much that he became a man after God’s own heart. How incredible is that!

Our God is extremely patient with us. Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed in our wrong choices and actions that we do not know where to start things afresh. Take note that if we allow God to take control of our lives, he knows exactly how to get us back on track and realign our lives so that our destiny can be fulfilled. It might take a while for us to see results, but rest assured and trust that he’s at work.

It’s amazing to realize that throughout our Christian journey, it doesn’t matter how many times we fall, what matters is that we get back up again and again. Our father is full of grace, mercy and compassion. He does not disqualify us when we “blow it”. He simply wants us to admit our wrongdoings, ask for forgiveness, and live in the fear of God.

Prayer:
Our father, thank you for the many chances you offer us despite the number of times we have wronged you. You keep showering your mercy over us. Thank you because you do not stay angry forever but delight in showing us mercy. Thank you for your compassion. Give us the spirit of humility that is ready to repent of any sin and to trust that you are faithful enough to forgive. We praise you and we love you. We are forever yours Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.

Amen. It is very true when you look back and notices how many times you have fail but God has always pulled us out of our troubles. Sometimes we need to fail in-order to get close to God.

Thank you my friend for sharing this with us!
